Metkoff.fi Hydraulic filters protect your hydraulic system components from damage due to contamination of oils or other hydraulic fluid when used with solid particles. Each minute, about one million particles better than 1 micron (0.001 mm or 1 micron) enter the hydraulic system. These particles can cause damage to components in the hydraulic system, as hydraulic oil is easily contaminated. Thus, maintaining a good hydraulic filtration system will increase the life of the hydraulic components.

Every minute one million particles more than 1 micron (0.001 mm) can get into the hydraulic system.

The wear of hydraulic system components depends on this contamination, and the presence of metal parts in hydraulic oil (iron and copper are especially powerful catalysts) accelerates its degradation. The hydraulic filter helps to continuously remove these particles and purify the oil. The effectiveness of each hydraulic filter is measured by its dirt removal efficiency, i.e. high dirt holding capacity.

The hydraulic filtration system includes hydraulic filters to continuously remove dirt and particles.

The hydraulic filter helps to continuously remove these particles and purify the oil. The effectiveness of each hydraulic filter is measured by its dirt removal efficiency, i.e. high dirt holding capacity. Almost every hydraulic system contains more than one hydraulic filter. The hydraulic filters between the pump and the drives are called pressure filters, and the hydraulic filters between the drives and the tanks are called low pressure filters or return lines.

Low pressure filters

Low pressure filters operate at 10 bars or less. Suction filters are used for coarse filtration and return line filters or bypass filters for fine filtration.

Heavy Duty Filtration

Heavy duty filtration for complex hydraulic systems in harsh environments with continuous operation. The flow rate is high at low to medium pressure in the hydraulic system.

Breathing filters

Are placed on hydraulic reservoirs to prevent the ingress of atmospheric contaminants. When the liquid level falls, air enters the reservoir. This occurs during normal machine operation and when cooling the fluid during standstill. Breathers are designed to prevent particles larger than 3 microns from entering the system. It is a reasonable and affordable solution for any hydraulic system, but by no means can it be the only filter in a hydraulic system.

Return line filters

Typically have low pressure housings that are less expensive than their high pressure counterparts. Return line filters collect contaminants from the oil as it returns to the reservoir. Like the kidney loop, return line filters are versatile. They can be placed almost anywhere in the return line, either in-line or built into the tank.
